STRAF is situated in the city centre, a short walk from the Duomo Cathedral, and has its origins in a new concept of hospitality, characterised by a personal and attentive, yet informal service. By choosing unusual materials, recycling objects and experimenting with the surroundings, De Cotiis has achieved an interior design that is a far cry from standard hotel design, and includes elements of industrial style and ´Arte Povera´.
The restaurant, fitness room and meeting room, which is often used to host fashion shows and art exhibitions, as well as the street bar STRAF with its musical evenings, complete and characterise the hotel.
64 rooms – reflect two apparently diverse philosophies: extreme hi-tech functionality with a minimalist touch and the warm and intimate ambience of rooms designed using refined, innovative materials such as split slate, burnished brass, concrete and iron, gauze-effect glass and aged mirrors, alongside furnishings specially designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis.
